Another way to alter the desktop wallpaper in Windows is to open the Personalize option on the desktop (called Properties in Windows XP). To do this, do the following:.
Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. (Or in the Windows 10 menu, go to Setups > Personalization > History.).
In Windows 8/7/Vista with Control Panel's Personalization applet, and in Windows XP using the Display Control Panel applet.
Under the History dropdown, select Image.
You can choose to use a pre-loaded photo from Microsoft or select Browse to locate a different image on your disk drive.
You can also decide if you want the image to fit, stretch, or fill the screen, and even for it to be tiled, focused, or spanned throughout multiple displays.
Some versions of Windows have additional choices below, like automatically altering the desktop wallpaper after so-many secs, which comes in useful if you do not want to work out with just one history.
